Dear WW-P Community,
Spring is here with nicer weather and time spent outdoors filling up our afternoons, evenings and weekends. If you are looking for an upcoming, exciting outdoor activity, I am pleased to announce that the inaugural High School North vs. High School South cricket match will be held Friday, May 3, 2024, at 4 p.m. at Community Park. The introduction of cricket as a spring sport has been through a concerted effort between the school district, our townships, our students and families. I am excited to see these two brand new teams face off and am even more thrilled to cheer on our student athletes. I invite our community to come out to watch the match.
NJ Department of Health and Updated COVID-19 Guidance:
On March 1, 2024, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released updated Respiratory Virus Guidance as it relates to the decreasing risk that COVID-19 presents to the population. The updated CDC guidance provides a unified approach to preventing respiratory diseases such as COVID-19, the flu and RSV. On April 17, 2024, the New Jersey Department of Health aligned their guidance surrounding respiratory illnesses (COVID-19, flu, RSV, etc.) for K-12 schools to match that of the CDC’s guidance. On April 18, WW-P updated the District’s COVID and respiratory illness guidance on school exclusion. Updated WW-P guidance can be found here. Parents/guardians are reminded that if your child is sick, they should not attend school. Students must be fever-free, without the use of fever-reducing medication, for 24 hours, and be feeling better or symptoms have improved before they return to school.
School Calendar Reminders for May:
All WW-P schools and District offices will be closed in observance of Memorial Day on Monday, May 27. Schools and District offices are open Friday, May 24 (due to the emergency closing day used on Feb. 13, 2024).
